Support for 3rd party load balancer
« on: June 13, 2012, 08:51:37 AM »
Hi,

We would be deploying AjaxSwing solution behind the HAproxy load balancer (http://haproxy.1wt.eu/). It uses cookies for session tracking (static balancing is not an option as clients are on DHCP). Is there any special configuration that needs to be done at App / Ajaxswing end?

Thanks,
Abhijit.

AjaxSwing should work in this scenario out of the box. The only requirement from AjaxSwing side is that as soon as client connects to one of the servers - all future requests from this client should go to this server. AjaxSwing session is loaded based on tomcat JSESSIONID cookie, so if you load balancing solution sticks with cookie - it would work with AjaxSwing.

Configured HAPROXY with "cookie JSESSIONID prefix". With 2 tomcat instances behind, working OK so far. We are testing with multiple sessions and will let you know of problems if we face any.

Thanks much,
Abhijit.
